The Reachable Project

From Business to Art & Back

I’ve spent my entire career working in the field of leadership communications and executive coaching. Over the years, I have come to the understanding that a key element of high performance and productivity is the ability to strike a balance between collaboration and individuality, with the goal of enabling creativity and making room for a consistent flow of forward-looking thoughts within one’s work environment.

My commitment to unleashing creative potential in everybody I work with is also at the core of “The Reachable Project”.

I’ve had the good fortune to encounter and establish close ties with leading creative practitioners, ranging from stage performers and opera singers to conductors, directors, actors and authors. As a result, I’ve started transferring knowledge from the world of art to my corporate coaching approaches. What at first seemed baffling and at times even exotic to my clients, quickly became an inspiring resource.

Creative practitioners embody many of the leadership principles that high-level managers aspire to put into practice with their teams.

The artists presented in “The Reachable Project”, constantly reinvent themselves. They live a life of perpetual change multitasking in a number of roles and positions simultaneously, and tapping in and out of their emotional fabric with ease as a means to generate self-motivation, find inspiration, and to manage their own productivity, personal growth and success.

Exclusive, unique, inspirational: Learning from top creative practitioners

“The Reachable Project”, a compilation of artists’ personal narratives, serves as a bridge for applying invaluable knowledge and skills from the arts to the world of corporate management.

Being a strong and effective leader in tomorrow’s corporate world requires fostering creativity. “The Reachable Project” is meant to inspire you, and to help you develop bold ideas for your teams, roles and work ethics.

“Understand the journey of others to help create your own.“
Kobe Bryant

    Good to Know

Often we come across thoughts that inspire and inform our work in articles, books and publications. We are happy to share some of them with you here.

Working towards “the core”- finding “your style”

    10/05/2022

Truman Capote: Get control over your material; find the simple organic shape or form of your work; find the apple of your work; the construction; its inevitable form. The style is one’s self; something absolutely natural to yourself.

    Marketing power – used wisely

    26/01/2021

How to use your marketing power in a meaningful and artistic way? Louis Vuitton does it this season. Granted: they have the means to do it. And they do it really well: merging poetry, arts, excellent craftsmanship, creativity and themes of societal change, creating a piece of art in its own right – not only displaying Zeitgeist but innovating Zeitgeist at the same time. Here, a “maison de couture” makes a beautiful and very bold statement, using its monetary power for an artistic and societal proclamation. Chapeau…. (and just one little caveat: where are the masks ?) Watch video in the link.

For a longer break: A book

    15/12/2020

2020 was the year of the pandemic. But there was one other topic that made headlines and moved everyone around the world: the fight for equal justice following the murder of George Floyd. One book, first published in 2016, gave me an understanding the African-American history in the US on a very visceral level: Colson Whiteheads “Underground Railroad” – it is fictional, but then, unfortunately, somehow it isn’t…

Need a quick break ? Take a minute. Enjoy Theo Jansen

    15/12/2020

Theo Jansen is an exceptional artist. His oeuvre is technically complicated but light, huge but poetic, fascinating and soothing – an experience for all senses. Take a moment, sit back and watch this video of his work. It will make you smile and pause. And on top of that: there is one key learning on failure …
